History of Educational Technology

There are no written records, can tell us exactly who invented the phrase educational technology. Several teachers, scientists and philosophers adopted different definitions in different time intervals of educational technology. Technology education is a multifaceted and integrated process, the people, processes, ideas, equipment and organization, in which technology is used in various fields of science only by the needs and requirements used to implement training, evaluate and manage solutions to these problems with all aspects of human learning.
Educational technology, generally speaking, has gone through five stages. The first stage of educational technology is coupled with the use of aids such as charts, maps, symbols, models, samples and concrete materials. The concept of educational technology has been used as a synonym for the audio-visual.
The second stage of educational technology is associated with the “electronic revolution” with the introduction and implementation of hardware and sophisticated software. The use of different media such as audio-visual projectors, magic lantern, tape, radio and television has brought a revolutionary change in the classroom.
